Looking for something different which enables you to have a great work/life balance whilst working at one of the best hospitals in the South West? At the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, based in Heavitree Exeter, we have the role for you. Working part time (up to 3 days a week) you will make a massive difference as part of our small, friendly team.

Our team consists of three Orthodontic Consultants, two Orthodontic Specialty Trainees and one Speciality Doctor in Orthodontics. The unit is supported by a well-established team of dental care professionals alongside a bespoke Orthodontic laboratory. It aims to provide a service that is patient-focused, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The Orthodontic department is situated in a bright and newly furbished open plan clinic environment with X-ray facilities.

In this role you will:

  • Provide an orthodontic service implementing care plans and performing non-complex orthodontic procedures working to the prescription of our three Consultant Orthodontists.
  • Provide a specialist contribution to the clinical management of patients requiring orthodontic treatment working in collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals in order to improve patient care.
  • Receive high levels of direct clinical supervision from our three Consultant Orthodontists, as well as our Specialist trainees.  
  • Conduct research and audit on delivery of patient care.
  • Facilitate and participate in audit and quality assurance programmes, and promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Be responsible for the teaching, mentoring and assessment of students, trainees and professional staff therefore promoting a learning culture.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Enjoys being part of a small team
  • Is fabulous with patients
  • Has a Diploma in Orthodontic therapy with an active GDC registration.

Working Pattern: 7.5 hours per day during normal working hours, Monday - Friday.  Flexibility regarding working pattern and days is available.
