This is an exciting opportunity for a registered pharmacy technician to join our friendly and dynamic medicines management team at the Barnstaple site of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, helping to ensure optimum performance of the pharmacy service whilst working at ward level and in the dispensary.

The medicines optimisation services at the Barnstaple site of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered pharmacy technician to join the team.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the multidisciplinary and clinical teams working to ensure our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Service continue to meet our patients and service users needs.
This will involve providing a ward focused service to our medical and surgical wards and to support work within the dispensary.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this position as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team, to be well organised, be able to adapt to changing demands and be committed to providing a high quality service and patient care.
The primary roles of this post will be to identify patients’ pharmaceutical needs, assess patient's own medication, assemble medication histories, provide medication counselling, undertake audit work, facilitate patient discharges, support with training and participate in dispensing and checking duties within the dispensary.
This post is suitable for those registered technicians who already have an appropriate accredited checking qualification and medicines management qualification. However, we would welcome applications from registered technicians/newly qualified technicians without these qualifications who would be keen to work towards a Band 5 post and to achieve the qualifications within twelve months of appointment.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday with an expectation to participate in the weekend and bank holiday rotas.
