Role Summary
The role is to provide secretarial support to a number of consultants, junior doctors and Nurses. There are multiple clinics weekly, , appointments to be scheduled often at short notice. The phone line is extremely busy and messages need to be dealt with appropriately or passed to the clinicians, the phones need to be covered during core hours.
Clinic cancellations need to be done giving good notice to the Outpatient Department to take down the clinics if Consultants, Nurses are on leave or unable to attend clinic. The secretary provides all aspects of administrative support to the whole team and provides cross cover with other secretaries in the team during absence for sickness and annual leave.

We are looking for two Band 3 secretaries fixed term for 12 months. 37.5 Hours Support Secretary for the various Specialities of General Medicine. 22.5 hours to support the Neurology Department. We are looking for applicants with a good knowledge of EPIC and must have excellent attention to detail which is essential for proof reading clinical letters prior to sending. The successful candidates will need to prioritise and manage their own workload, have excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team. The workload consists of managing outpatient lists, booking appointments, recording accurate telephone messages onto epic. Check outcomes and orders are complete.
Working Pattern: 37.5hr support Secretary post - Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
22.5hr in Neurology - Wednesday to Friday 8am to 4pm
