Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the maternity team here in North Devon as a Maternity Administrative support. This role involves supporting the community midwifery teams in Bideford, South Molton, Torrington and Holsworthy.
This role will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient delivery of maternity services within the community setting. This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the midwifery team, working closely with midwives, maternity support workers and other health care professionals. The post holder will need to be proactive, organised and have excellent communication skills. The post holder will need to maintain a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

The post holder will fulfil all tasks associated with the smooth running of the administration department, liaising with other departments as necessary. As well as dealing with requests to access health records, diary management, typing letters and reports, note taking.
A large part of the role is undertaking the administration for the comprehensive Maternity Self-referral booking service for pregnant women accessing care at Royal Devon Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust. This will include co-ordinating, booking and arranging appointments for women, providing the relevant information as required, ensuring any urgent referrals and messages are dealt with in a timely manner. This will be following local and national guidelines.
The post holder will also support the midwifery teams with Administrative duties to support the team to work effectively and professionally with women accessing the service and other members of the Multi-professional team where appropriate.
Working Pattern: 30 hours per week. 8:00-4:00 / 9:00-5:00

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
