Role Summary
To lead, plan and deliver OSCE (Observed Structured Clinical Examinations) training for internationally trained registered nurses
To provide appropriate assessment and support to internationally trained nurses to enable them to complete and pass their NMC OSCE to gain their UK registration
To devise, plan and deliver training programmes as required, to support Registered Nurses during their transition to the NHS.
To offer pastoral and clinical support for all Registered professionals as required.
To lead and support a small team in delivering OSCE training to internationally trained nurses, motivating and progressing the team forward to deliver a successful positive OSCE program.
To ensure all training resources are regularly updated and kept in line with the NMC standards required of OSCE exams. This may include written, verbal or video resources as necessary.

Do you have experience of working with international nurses and a strong desire to teach?
If so this could be the role for you. The Practice Education Team has gained permanent funding for the role of a lead OSCE trainer. As part of this role you will lead a team in organising, delivering and evaluating OSCE training for the trust, to allow international nurses new to the trust to complete their NMC exam and gain their NMC registration to work in the UK.
As part of this role you will lead other staff to train overseas nurses to a standard required to complete and pass the NMC OSCE exam. You will deliver both theoretical and practical training and skills sessions including APIE, ANTT, catheterisation and peak flow skills. All of this will be delivered in a training ward environment.
Part of this role will also involve liaising with the NMC test centres to ensure nurses are booked into complete their OSCE exams in a timely fashion and ensure that candidates are aware of when their exams are and support them in preparing for their exams. You will be expected to provide pastoral support to international nurses as required and support them in their transition to the NHS.
As part of this role you will be required to line manage a small team of staff completing 1:1's, appraisals, and performance and sickness management of the team if required. You will also be expected to support the team pastorally if needed. If you have a passion and drive for teaching, working with international nurses and leading a team, this could be the role for you. Full support will be provided by the Practice Education Team Lead.
Working Pattern: 07:30-18:00 (Monday to Friday)
