Role Summary

The post holder will provide the link between the Pathology Directorate and POCT users across Royal Devon University Hospital NHS Trust. They will successfully assess, advise and monitor POCT activity in direct liaison with users and identified directorate / departmental staff.

The role will play a key part in the development and management of a POCT Policy, and in

the establishment of a multi-disciplinary POCT Group.

The post holder will provide overall management for POCT Staff and the Service provided. This will include providing support, facilitation and monitoring of project plans to ensure objectives are achieved in a time efficient manor whilst staying within budget.

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Point of Care Testing (POCT) Manager with extensive experience of working in this field in an acute NHS laboratory.  Candidates will be experienced, energetic, enthusiastic and a well-motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, planning and delivery of all POCT services across both Exeter and Barnstable sites of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.  They will provide professional, technical and management leadership to staff working within POCT and will be the Trust lead for all matters relating to these services.  They will need to be fully conversant with UKAS standards and all relevant guidelines.

The successful candidate will be based at the Exeter Wonford site and is expected to be on site at North Devon District Hospital around 6 days per month.
