Role Summary
Working in a HR Business Partner role you will advise and provide proactive support, enabling our managers and services in meeting operational and organisational objectives, through:
- Consistently thinking about how their work can help and support Clinicians and frontline staff deliver better outcomes for patients.
- Support Senior Leaders with change, staff engagement, ambiguity and uncertainty by developing credible relationships, influencing appropriately and providing informal coaching support.
- Proactively work with managers, monitoring and analysing data, to develop plans and put interventions into place to resolve areas of concern and/or manage risks, ensuring delivery of national and local HR performance targets
- Enable the division to implement Strategic Workforce Planning across their Services, including different ways of working, role design and models of care, linking in to talent management and succession planning.
- Lead on various trustwide workforce initiatives and change management programmes, with responsibility for development and implementation with your service colleagues, working with Staffside and Trades Unions.
- Supporting our cultural change through the implementation of the Trust’s values and behaviours and ‘Just Culture’ journey including civility and respect principles.
- Develop our Leadership capability by coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders to improve business efficiency, develop management capability and improve empowerment.

This is an exciting time for HR with the NHS People Plan vision for the Future of HR/OD setting the standard for our profession. Following the merger of Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and North Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, we are now actively planning and engaging on our Integrated organisational structure. We are currently looking to recruit a professional, customer focused and responsive HR Business Partner to join our team on a part-time basis, to provide HR leadership to our Specialist Division, supporting our colleagues and enabling them to adapt to the changing expectations and needs of the NHS and it’s people.
Reporting to the Lead People Business Partner, the Divisional HRBP post holder will partner with the divisional leadership team enabling them to shape, translate and implement the wider people agenda, ensuring the provision of a quality people solutions, aligned and responsive to the needs of our Services and supporting our staff to deliver the best patient centred care.
With demonstrable HR business partnering experience and strong technical knowledge, the successful candidate will be someone who truly values collaborative working and has the skills and experience to support leaders with innovative and professional people solutions.
