Role Summary
We are looking for a Respiratory Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and supportive Outpatient Respiratory Team with in Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northern Services.
The Respiratory Therapy Rehabilitation service works with patients with a wide range of complex respiratory conditions, including interstitial lung disease, asthma, bronchiectasis, neuromuscular cough augmentation, breathing pattern disorders, chronic cough, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and paediatric respiratory conditions.
The post holder will have a specialist focus on interstitial lung disease and neuromuscular cough augmentation. The role also requires cross covering other respiratory clinics to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
The post holder will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including respiratory consultants, respiratory specialist nurses, respiratory advanced practitioners, and therapy colleagues.

The Respiratory Rehabilitation Service delivers high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care to individuals, and this position offers the opportunity to work within a highly skilled and collaborative team environment that values professional development, innovation, and high standards of patient care.
There is frequent positive care opinion feedback from patients stating; " Excellent respiratory rehabilitation service. With a long term breathing disorder I was assessed and provided with ways to help my breathing, the way I think and develop skills. This had a positive impact on my life".
The successful candidate will require Highly Specialist clinical reasoning, be able to formulate and deliver evidence based treatments, need strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous service improvement through audit and quality improvement initiatives.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role includes supervising staff and students.
The post holder clinics will be at North Devon District Hospital and other community sites including occasionally delivering Therapy in patients home.
The post holder will be required to have relevant Respiratory Physiotherapy experience, which has been underpinned by post graduate education including relevant MSC module or an equivalent qualification.
Working Pattern: To work over three or four days. You will also be required to contribute to weekend, bank holiday and Respiratory on call rotas.
