Role Summary

Royal Devon University HealthCare NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a GP with a Specialist interest in Rheumatologist, based at North Devon Hospital, supporting the delivery of a Trust wide multi-disciplinary Rheumatology Service to the population of North Devon.

The consultant team have a range of special interests and the successful candidate will complement the consultant members of the department.

We are fortunate to have a highly skilled Rheumatology MDT, with extended scope Rheumatology Physiotherapists, Specialist Nurses, dedicated Rheumatology Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists Trust wide. We meet weekly in MDT to support high quality care for patients in line with national guidance.
The RDUH is a great place to work. We are a large trust with a full complement of medical specialty departments and have approximately 800 beds over 30 wards. The trust has invested in a state of the art fully electronic patient management system (MY CARE/EPIC) which went live in October 2020.
The RDUH was one of the first UK trusts to gain foundation status. We are consistently ranked amongst the top trusts as a place our staff would recommend to friends and family. Training programmes are highly rated by trainers and junior doctors alike – frequently having been top ranked nationally.

We remain pro-active about managing the increasing attendances to unscheduled care and are developing services to meet the challenge. We are not a trust that stays still. Urgent Care and particularly SDEC are high on the trust’s list of priorities.
