We are holding interviews for Catering and Domestic Assistant roles on Saturday, 23rd September 2023 (09:00 – 13:30hrs) at our Wonford site in Exeter.
You will need to apply online beforehand to register for an interview on the day, and you can also talk to the teams to find out more about the roles, the working hours available and visit the departments.
Our Catering and Domestic Assistant teams are central to all that we do at the Royal Devon, and we have a number of opportunities available for you covering different shift patterns.

Catering – Patient meal service:
We are recruiting to our Patient Meals Service in our Catering team. You will be working alongside colleagues in our kitchens onsite at our hospital in Wonford to bring meals to our patients on the wards.
You will load the trolleys with the meal options and deliver them throughout the hospital. You will also be involved in covering all aspects of the food and beverage services on the ward, as well as preparing salads, fresh produce and supporting our kitchen teams in the main kitchen wash up area.

Domestic Assistants
We are recruiting Domestic Assistants in both our Wonford and Heavitree hospital sites in Exeter. Your ultimate objective is to maintain the high standards of cleanliness in the ward and public areas on the site.
If you have some experience then that’s great and we’d love to hear about it! But you don’t have to have cleaning experience to do this role as full training will be given.
We have a variety of shifts available for Domestic Assistants and they generally fall into the categories below, but if you don’t see anything here that fits then please do ask us:
Wonford Hospital, Exeter
- 37.5 hours per week (12:00-20:00), Two out of three weekends to include Public Holidays.
- 30 hours per week (07:15-13:15), Two out of three weekends to include Public Holidays.
- 30 hours per week (12:30-18:30), Two out of three weekends to include Public Holidays.
- 15 hours per week (17:00-20:00), Monday - Friday with Public Holidays.
- 30 hours per week – (07:15-13:15) Monday - Friday (Marden, Wonford)
Heavitree Hospital, Exeter
- 20 hours per week (15:30-19:30), Monday – Friday
- 37.5 hours per week (11:30-19:30), Monday – Friday
