Role Summary
The Linen Services Department is a busy, key function within the Estates & Facilities Management Division, decontaminating circa 330,000 items of Healthcare linen per week and providing essential services to the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, as well as other NHS Trusts and Units across the South West area.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Customer Service Support Officer role within the team. The role will be based in the main Linen Services office area and and will be the first point of contact for service users, other Healthcare staff and patients.

The post holder will be required to provide a high quality, professional, customer experience-focused service on behalf of the Linen Services Department in accordance with Trust policies and standards relating to confidentiality and customer care to ensure that streamlined, efficient and accurate processes and procedures are adhered to.
The role encompasses a professional and welcoming environment for all our service users, being the first point of contact for staff and customers.
You will be expected to support the Linen Services team by providing a flexible, productive and responsive service, thereby contributing towards the smooth running of the department.
The role also supports the monitoring of access to the facilities in line with the Linen Services Department’s policies and procedures, with experience, knowledge and understanding of linen decontamination processes being essential.
Essential:
- IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Good standard of English comprehension & communication skills.
- Experience of processing environment.
- Experience of linen decontamination processes.
- Able to communicate technical information.
- Problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience of working to deadlines and under pressure.
- Able to handle and manoeuvre heavy loads / cages.
Desirable:
- Experience of previous Training/Supervisory Role.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Normal hours 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday.
