The head and neck cancer surgery team at the Royal Devon is growing. As we continue to treat an increasing number of cases and a greater variety of reconstructions, we’re seeking to appoint a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with experience and a specialty interest in head and neck cancer surgery, with a proficiency in micro-vascular reconstruction, to join us at the Royal Devon.

We are a designated cancer centre and provide surgical treatment to approximately 220 to 240 patients per year. We embrace the full spectrum of surgical treatments for head and neck cancers. Our state-of-the-art theatres are supported by an experienced theatre team and equipped with the latest technology. Our team of reconstructive surgeons perform a high volume of microvascular reconstruction cases, achieving a high flap success rate.

Recent advances in our capabilities include virtual surgical planning for bony resection and reconstruction cases. Additionally, our on-site maxillofacial laboratory offers the construction of both intra- and extra-oral implant-retained prostheses.

We are based in Devon in the southwest of England; a county renowned for its natural beauty including beaches and moorland, excellent schools, good transport links, and a fantastic quality of life.
