About Us

The ENT Department at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a Consultant in General ENT with a sub specialty interest in otology.  This post is arising as a result of the impending retirement of one of our senior consultants.

 

The Royal Devon provides a full range of ENT services to the population of North and East Devon. The post is primarily intended for candidates with a subspecialty interest in otology although there will be a component of general ENT medicine as well. We are looking for a full time appointment for 10PAs total programmed activity but less than full time working can be accommodated as required.

 

The Royal Devon has developed a reputation as an innovative, leading acute hospital over 250 years.  Further information on the Trust can be obtained at https://royaldevon.nhs.uk/. The Research, Innovation, Learning and Development centre on site is a £27.5m development, which consists of the Welcome Wolfson Centre for Medical Research, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Exeter Clinical Research Facility, and a new Post Graduate Education Centre.  The recently established and forward thinking University of Exeter Medical School (UEMS) employs the wealth of resources at the Royal Devon for teaching and training.

 

The historic cathedral city of Exeter is situated centrally in the South West Region with easy access to the countryside and coast of Devon and Cornwall.  It is well served by rail, road and air links.

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners and either be on the GMC Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of completion of specialist training at the date of interview.  Evidence of this should be provided with your application. Please include contact details of a minimum of 3 referees from the last 3 years of your employment.  If you are a Consultant one referee should be your current or most recent Medical Director.  If you are a Locum Consultant one referee should be your Clinical Director or equivalent.
