Due to retirement, we’re looking for a Consultant Surgeon to join our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery department. The role is offered on a full-time basis however, the team are supportive of part-time hours to balance outside interests and commitments.

We’re seeking a consultant ready to embrace change and innovation to meet the needs of our patients. Join our collaborative, supportive and driven team of 14 Consultant Plastic Surgeons providing general and trauma care to patients across Devon and Somerset, based from the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford). 

Ideally, you’ll have experience in sarcoma and lower limb trauma, however full training can be provided if required. 

You’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities such as our new hybrid theatre, thanks to the successful £1.4m appeal by the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity to provide imaging technology that goes beyond what the NHS is funded to provide. Groundwork has also just started on our new £20m surgical hub at our Heavitree site in Exeter and our teams are piloting advanced AI tools across the Trust providing our clinicians more time to focus on patient care.

This rewarding and fulfilling role, allows you to tailor your job plan to explore your interests, including teaching, training, research and service development. You’ll join the Peninsula Soft Tissue Sarcoma Service) and see first-hand how our Sarcoma Pathway is providing a 40% improvement to waiting times as part of a ‘one stop service’ for patients.
