We're looking for a Consultant Interventional Radiologist to join our highly regarded team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Working alongside experienced Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology colleagues, you'll play a key role in a growing IR service.
Alongside a varied clinical practice there are opportunities to develop subspecialist interests, contribute to teaching and training and support service development. Dedicated hybrid theatre sessions and one day per week remote working form part of the role.

The post is based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford), the vascular centre for both Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
You'll be part of an established team of consultant radiologists including four Interventional Radiologists, responsible for delivering a broad range of vascular and non-vascular procedures. The successful candidate will have opportunities to further develop existing services and pursue areas of specialist interest alongside general or subspecialist radiology reporting, according to their skills and experience.
The current IR consultants are job-planned for sessions at the Hybrid endovascular theatre in Torbay, and this opportunity will also be extended to any successful candidate.

Our Interventional Radiology Service
Our Interventional Radiology service is supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of nurses, radiographers and administrative staff, with strong links across a wide range of referring specialties.
With access to two hybrid operating theatres, we provide a comprehensive portfolio of vascular and non-vascular interventions, including:
- Peripheral arterial intervention and infra-renal EVAR
- Microwave ablation of renal, liver and lung tumours
- Cryoablation
- Transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE)
- Vascular access including for a large haemodialysis population
- TIPSS
- Percutaneous and rendezvous biliary intervention
- Luminal GI stenting
- Urological interventions, including PCNL and prostate artery embolisation
- Uterine artery embolization
- Venous embolization and stenting
- Percutaneous gastrostomy
- CT and ultrasound-guided non-vascular interventions

We're looking for a consultant who enjoys working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to a cross-site Interventional Radiology service across Exeter and Torbay. You will have:
- Completed specialist training in Clinical Radiology
- Subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology, completed an IR fellowship, or substantial ongoing Interventional Radiology experience at consultant level (or equivalent)
- Evidence of relevant clinical experience within your application
The European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualification is desirable but not essential. Candidates working towards EBIR are encouraged to apply.
Working Pattern: The post comprises 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), including one day per week working from home. Additional PAs may be available to successful candidates subject to mutual agreement.
Successful applicants will participate in the Interventional Radiology on-call rota, currently 1 in 8. The post holder will not be expected to participate in the general radiology on-call rota.
