More detail about the role:

Working under the supervision of qualified Nursing and Medical staff, the post-holder will assist in the care of patients within the department and carry out general duties to enable the effective running of Clinics. This will initially include a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, such as: chaperoning patients during clinical examinations and procedures, undertaking venepuncture, stocking clinic rooms, ordering clinical supplies, filing results and entering data. Once initial training has been undertaken, there may be opportunity to progress along the salary scale to a Band 3 role, that involves seeing patients independently to take a sexual history and initiate STI testing, and providing certain follow-up treatments.

No previous experience or qualifications are required, just a desire to deliver excellent patient care with the support and guidance of your colleagues. An ability to deal professionally and sensitively with the general public is essential.  We work with a diverse range of patients, and the post-holder must be non-judgmental with excellent communication skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude. You will quickly become a valued member of the team through our comprehensive induction and training programme, and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person.

If you have previous, related experience and can demonstrate the ability to meet the competencies of the role then you will join further up the salary scale and we will continue to invest in your development as you progress your career with us.

Applicants for this post need to be able to manage a demanding workload and have the flexibility to work within the needs of the service, to include travel to the weekly clinic in Tiverton, some evening shifts, and potential weekend work.

Please ensure you mention why you are interested in working for Sexual Health as part of your application statement.

Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week

Interview Date: Thursday 18th April 2024
