Role Summary

  • To provide a good quality professional secretarial service to senior managers
  • Proof reading/completing clinical letters from clinics and or ward discharges for the consultants prior to sending to patients.
  • Use multiple computer systems as required within the department such as EPIC (MyCare), MS Office applications
  • To provide a good quality secretarial service to the ACE wards and nurses and assist in all administrative duties required as requested from the ACE Wards, Matrons and nurses.
  • Supporting any ward covers on rota’s and organising and supporting the Rota Co-Ordinator
  • Supporting the ACE phone calls.
  • Attending meetings with the teams and clinicians and taking minutes of meetings.
  • Specifically, this post will work with colleagues and team leaders to ensure that they provide a professional, efficient, accurate and timely service
  • Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and busy department as a Clinical Secretary. Within this role you will work closely with the ACE wards, Matrons and nursing team supporting them with day to day administration tasks. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the admin team based at William Wright House, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital Wonford. As an individual we are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy and vibrant team, who is able to prioritise their workload, and can remain calm under pressure.

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven experience in dealing with service users on the telephone. You will be flexible and adaptable with excellent IT skills. You will need to enjoy the challenge of working as part of a busy team yet have the ability to use your own initiative to meet the changing needs of the ward duties.

This position is fixed term for 12 months. 

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours
