Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Haemodialysis/Renal Nurse to join the Dialysis Access team. Working alongside other Dialysis Access Nurse Specialists you will ensure patients are safely prepared for all aspects of Dialysis access procedures and ensure the highest quality care is delivered to these patients.

It is essential that you are flexible, well organised, motivated and can function autonomously. You will need to have at least 3 years recent haemodialysis/renal experience and be aware of the complexities of renal access and the challenges in achieving and maintaining the Renal Association target of 80% of prevalent patients dialysing via permanent access (AV fistula/AV Graft/Peritoneal Catheters)
The post holder will be supported by the Senior Dialysis Access Nurse Specialist and Dialysis Access link healthcare practitioners in each of the satellite units.
The post will include seeing patients in the dedicated dialysis access clinic alongside the vascular surgeons, organising access formation schedules, and monitoring use of dialysis access and ensuring compliance. You will also be given training to use the ultrasound scanner to review and assess a patient's vascular access. You will also be expected to deliver training and education in all aspects of renal access to patients, and staff. It is essential that you are flexible, well organised, highly motivated, possess excellent interpersonal skills, IT skills, and be able to function both autonomously and as part of a multi-professional team.
Working Pattern: 7.5 hour days ,3 days a week. Monday to Friday, no weekends or night shifts.
