Role Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Physiotherapy Clinical Lead to join the Honiton and Ottery St Mary (HOSM) Community Rehab Team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Or a Band 6 seeking a development opportunity.
In HOSM we are passionate about providing excellent patient care by the right person, in the right place and at the right time through communication and integration. You will work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Rehab Nurse, Assistant Practitioners and Rehab Support Workers. The emphasis will be on providing clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of integrated rehabilitation pathways across community services; for patients living in their own homes, in care homes and supporting those placed in Short Term Pathway 2 beds to return home.

You will be based at Honiton Hospital, which is located in a beautiful part of rural East Devon, our catchment area also includes Ottery St Mary and Cranbrook and is part of the wider HOSM-SAS Cluster covering Sidmouth, Axminster and Seaton. We are within easy reach of the University city of Exeter, the M5, Exeter St David’s train station and Exeter Airport, offering excellent transport links.
The role will support existing Band 7 Clinical Leads and the Therapy Manager with triaging and clinical decision making and providing specialist clinical supervision to the team to ensure effective day to day operational and clinical management of the Therapy Service across the cluster. You will manage a complex caseload and support colleagues through supervision, mentoring and teaching sessions.
The Community Rehabilitation team support the Ageing Well rota to ensure the provision of a 7-day 8-8 service. You will be involved in planning and coordinating the Ageing well rota alongside the Urgent Community Response Lead and other Band 7 colleagues. Knowledge and experience of rostering would be helpful, but is not essential.
You will be part of a friendly and supportive Community Therapy service that works in partnership with our Health and Social Care colleagues. We have strong links with the acute teams in the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and wider community services across the surrounding clusters. On site we have support from Community Matrons, Community Nurses, Adult Social Care teams, Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists. We are committed to maximising the potential of our staff and there are multiple opportunities for service and personal development within the role. You will be offered regular supervision with our Therapy Manger and CPD to support you to develop and expand on your existing knowledge and skills.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
