Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking General Manager to join the Surgery Care Group.
This senior leadership role is responsible for supporting strong leadership and consistent, high-quality performance across the full range of Care Group services and specialties. Based in Exeter, the post holder will hold a Trust-wide portfolio and deputise for the Care Group Director and Associate Director. They will be expected to work independently, make timely and informed decisions, and support the operational delivery of the Care Group by leading change and improvement across clinical, operational and corporate teams.

The successful candidate will be able to lead through ambiguity, engage effectively with stakeholders, and support transformational change that improves outcomes for both our people and patients.
Main duties include:
- Act as the senior, site-based leader for the Surgery Care Group.
- Lead strategic planning and the day-to-day management of operational site pressures.
- Support delivery against key operational, performance and financial indicators.
- Lead transformation programmes aligned to DBV targets.
- Ensure performance reports are delivered within agreed timescales.
- Build strong relationships across the Trust and with system partners.
- Champion continuous improvement and develop capability across teams.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
