More detail about the role

This is a varied and hands-on role offering the opportunity to contribute to improvements across the Trust’s northern healthcare estate. You will support projects involving clinical and non-clinical areas, including new developments, refurbishments, service relocations and changes to the use of existing accommodation.
You will work across multiple project stages, helping to develop feasibility options, spatial layouts, specifications, cost estimates and business case information. The role also involves coordinating surveys and site access, supporting tender and contract processes, monitoring work on site, and assisting with commissioning, handover and post-project reviews.
A key part of the role will be bringing together different professional groups to ensure that clinical, operational, technical, digital, equipment and infection prevention requirements are fully considered. You will provide advice, assess options and help resolve complex issues, including situations where priorities conflict or there is resistance to change.
You will have responsibility for organising your own workload and will work with a significant degree of independence, using your judgement to determine the best way to achieve agreed outcomes. The role includes monitoring project finances, supporting capital funding submissions and ensuring that projects comply with relevant healthcare standards, building regulations, health and safety requirements and Trust procedures.
Some travel between Trust sites and occasional visits to construction, supplier or partner locations will be required.
