About Us

Associate Medical Director - Transformation

If you look at the scale and complexity of the challenges we face as a new organisation, it is clear that we need to think differently, be prepared to innovate, take risks and invest in change.   In support of this, the Trust’s approach to transformation is shifting to be clinically and operationally led, with close working with our digital teams.  We are aiming to foster a culture of great ideas from staff, supported by expertise in change management to adopt and spread change rapidly.  A key element of this is the recruitment of a Associate Medical Director for Transformation to provide senior clinical leadership and engagement to change programmes.

The postholder will support the Director of Service Improvement and wider Transformation Team in tackling complex problems across the range of our acute and community services and engaging all clinical staff to ensure that there is a strong clinical voice in everything we do.  The AMD will also establish a Healthcare Science Forum to provide a route for innovation in this complex field and support the development of technology, such as artificial intelligence.

We are seeking a clinical leader with a proven track record of leadership and innovation, as well as someone who is able to support and challenge clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels of the organisation.

Interested individuals are welcome to discuss the role with Phil Luke, Director of Service Improvement or Adrian Harris, Chief Medical Officer.

The role is a 5 PA post and offers great flexibility in terms of working hours and remote working.

This is a fixed term contract for 60 months.  For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.

Preference will be given to staff with ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon.
