Role Summary
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an Assistant Safety & Quality Manager to join their team. This is to cover the role for a period of 12 months and is an ideal opportunity for a secondment and professional development. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the team to deliver Clinical Governance, Quality and Safety within the Surgical Care Group.
The successful applicant should be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with knowledge of governance processes. You should be able to communicate effectively with teams at all levels within the organisation to ensure key deadlines are met .
The post holder will be a key member of the Safety and Quality team supporting the Safety and Quality Managers, along with working closely with clinical teams in the planning and implementation of risk and governance . This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in all aspects of Governance to gain experience and knowledge across the wide range of services within the Surgical Care Group.
Working across our Northern and Eastern sites in a multidisciplinary team, this role offers an excellent starting point for a career within Clinical Governance with clear training and development opportunities.

The Safety and Quality Assistant Manager will have responsibility for supporting effective risk management and clinical governance processes within the Care Group, ensuring the efficient, compliant, safe and high quality delivery of care.
They will be a key contact within the Care Group for any Governance queries or enquiries for patient safety events, patient experience feedback, legal claims, local and national audit, providing advice / guidance and direction as required. To provide compassionate engagement and liaison to patients, families and carers who have been affected by patient safety events or have raised a complaint through the Trust’s feedback processes. To deputise for the Safety and Quality Improvement Manager at Trust wide meetings, governance & oversight groups and improvement forums. To support the completion of actions from a wide range of sources within agreed timescales, and the accurate cascade of governance information within the Care Group.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday
