Role Summary

Do you have experience working in and are you passionate about improving patient safety and driving high‑quality care across clinical specialist services? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Clinical Specialist Services team as the Assistant Safety and Quality Improvement Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and continuously improving services. Working closely with the Associate Director of Patient Care and the Safety and Quality Improvement Manager, you will help shape and embed best practice across a diverse portfolio of specialist clinical areas. The post holder can be based either at the RDE site or the NDDH site but will be required to work across the Care Group.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the coordination and delivery of safety and quality improvement initiatives across Clinical Specialist Services
  • Assist with incident review processes, thematic analysis, and learning dissemination
  • Contribute to the development of improvement plans and monitor progress against key quality metrics
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, managers, and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Help prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for governance meetings and speciality services

This fixed‑term position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with a range of stakeholders
  • Is proactive, curious, and committed to improving patient outcomes
  • Can work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Brings enthusiasm for quality improvement methodologies and evidence‑based practice

Experience in healthcare quality, governance, or patient safety is desirable, but we welcome applicants with transferable skills and a passion for making a difference.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
