More detail about the role
We believe that everyone should have access to excellent bladder and bowel care, and our service promotes this with holistic assessment and a wide range of treatment options. Working mainly with your designated care homes, you will develop the specialist knowledge and skills to assess and manage incontinence, improving your patients’ quality of life and promoting best practice in this common but often complex and challenging health condition. You will play a key role in delivering the Devon NHS containment pad service, processing continence assessments and ensuring compliance with the pad provision criteria.
You will advise and support community nursing teams with bladder and bowel care, and deliver a range of education and training to care homes, care agencies and community healthcare practitioners. We regularly share knowledge and expertise within our team of nurses and assistant practitioners, and have regular supervision and education alongside our bladder and bowel care colleagues working in North Devon and Torbay & South Devon.
This is a community-based post and you will be required to drive between clinics and care/residential homes and to participate in wider team activities within the Trust both in person and through MS Teams events.
Whilst previous experience of bladder and bowel care would be useful, equally important is your enthusiasm, your high standards and your motivation to be part of a team who care.
Working Pattern: 30 hours per week.
Interview Date: to be confirmed
