Assistant Estates Officer - Electrical

Role Summary

The post holder, under guidance from a Senior Estates Officer, has managerial, professional
and technical responsibility for the day to day operational management of a comprehensive
maintenance service, including new works and delegated capital projects being undertaken
by directly employed labour or contractors for all Trust premises and those covered by service
level agreements with other trusts.
Reporting directly to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this post has professional responsibility
for the Electrical Services on the whole Trust Estate and for providing specialist and
professional advice to staff, peers, senior managers and contractors on matters relating to
Trust electrical services.
The post holder will be required to work as part of the Estates Operational Team and together
with the Building & Engineering Officers specifically responsible for the provision of the
Estates Service to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and all associated Trust properties.

An exciting career opportunity has arisen within the Trusts Estates Department for a highly motivated and dynamic person who has, professional and technical experience to supervise the day-to-day operational requirements and to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive building fabric and environmental maintenance & reaction service ensuring that Trust properties, grounds and associated services are maintained within available budgets and are compliant with statutory/mandatory legislation

The successful candidate shall have a sound, demonstratable knowledge of electrical engineering, associated maintenance processes, appropriate HBN’s and HTM’s and other relevant legislation for this post. Be responsible for delegated budgetary control and be able to work to tight deadlines. Be capable of working on your own initiative and also as a valued member of the operational team. Have good analytical and problem-solving skills, be flexible and able to work well under pressure to achieve their required objectives for the Estates service and for the Trust.

Previous experience in a similar environment would be desirable.

Working pattern: Monday- Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (37.5 hrs a week)
