This is an exciting opportunity to join the Endoscopy team in a fixed term/secondment position as Admin Line Manager, supporting both the Wonford site and the brand new Tiverton Endoscopy Diagnostic Unit which opened May 25. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the Administration team and support the service to see the right patients, at the right time, at the right place. As Administrative Line Manager, the post holder will have overall responsibility for the administration staff for Endoscopy (Eastern), alongside ensuring effective and efficient processes are in place. We are looking for a candidate who can organise and motivate the team, and provide leadership to ensure practices are efficient to reduce waiting lists and get patients seen on time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Team management
    • Ensure all staff are managed appropriately and within parameters set by the Operations team
    • Support and motivate the administrative workforce
  • Effective and efficient service
    • Ensure the administrative service is appropriately resourced and the work is closely aligned to the needs of the department and the Trust’s strategic agenda and direction
    • Ensure that administrative services function effectively, e.g. Endoscopy lists are fully utilised
    • Ensure implementation and compliance with relevant policies/procedures, e.g. Endoscopy Booking Standard Operating Procedures
  • Patient care
    • Provide excellent patient care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives 
    • Ensure information is secure and confidentiality is maintained 
  • Improvement
    • Monitor key performance indicators, e.g. cancer two-week wait patients and six-week diagnostic targets
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and share knowledge

Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9-5)

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
