Role Summary
We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and flexible dietitian to apply for this exciting secondment opportunity to joint the acute dietetic team for a 12 month period. Your role will be to provide an inpatient dietetic service to medical areas in particular acute medicine, neurology, endocrinology and adults patients with eating disorders. You will attend multidisciplinary team meetings to increase the profile of nutrition and develop nutritional interventions to enhance outcomes. You will sustain, develop and initiate evidence based nutritional practice.

You will work as an integral member of the acute adult team which consists of 3 band 5 dietitians, 4 band 6 dietitians, 1 dietetic assistant practitioner and is led by a band 7 dietitian.
An essential component of your role will involve audit, delivery of education sessions and developing and implementing dietetic outcome measures. You will be involved in the supervision of a band 5 dietitian, a dietetic assistant practitioner and actively participate student training.
You will be part of a wider dietetic team of 38 dietitians including specialists in, paediatrics, oncology, intestinal failure, CF, community and renal, 1 dietetic support worker and 3 assistant practitioner. The department has good integrated services with other AHP’s and is committed to personal development supporting each dietitians potential for growth.

To provide a high quality, evidence based dietetic service to medical inpatients, support their safe and timely discharge and facilitate with the smooth transition of their care and rehabilitation plans
Key Responsibilities
To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs of patients
To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients
To ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available within the team
To work with other members of the multidisciplinary team and dietetic team to develop performance /outcome measures for both the patients and service and consider ways of service improvement to provide an efficient, effective and responsive service.
To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the speciality area
Working Pattern: 30 hours per week. 4 days a week, 9-5pm

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
